REGULATIONS FOR THE 46TH PKO SZCZECIN HALF MARATHON AND 10 KM RUN
I. PURPOSE
1. Popularization and promotion of running as the simplest form of recreation.
2. Promotion of the City of Szczecin.
II. ORGANIZER
1. The organizers of the 46th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and 10 km Run (hereinafter referred to as the Event) are Stowarzyszenie K2 Partners, K2 Marketing Sp. z o.o., and the City of Szczecin.
2. The Strategic Partner of the Event is the City of Szczecin, and the Title Sponsor is Powszechna Kasa Oszczędności Bank Polski (PKO Bank Polski).
III. DATE AND VENUE
1. The Event will take place on August 31, 2025, in Szczecin, with the race starting at 9:00 AM. The organizer reserves the right to implement wave starts.
2. The route of the 46th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon will run through the streets of Szczecin, with two loops for the half marathon distance and one loop for the 10 km run. The route will be published on the website www.halfmarathon.szczecin.pl once it has been positively verified and approved by all relevant authorities. The organizer reserves the right to change the route and will inform participants by posting the updated route on the website www.halfmarathon.szczecin.pl. Such changes do not give rise to any additional claims or obligations.
3. The start and finish of the race will be located on Karol Szymanowski Street near Jasne Błonia Square named after John Paul II in Szczecin.
4. Course length: 21 km and 97.5 meters for the half marathon or 10 km (depending on the participant’s choice). Both distances will be certified by PZLA. The participant must independently choose the distance they intend to run. The participant must decide on the distance no later than between kilometers 9 and 10, where the course for the half marathon and the 10 km run diverges. The organizer commits to adequately marking this decision point.
5. The organizer reserves the right to change the organization of the start and finish area.
6. The route will be marked with vertical and horizontal signs every 1 kilometer.
7. Time measurement will be carried out using chips located in the race numbers (electronic timekeeping).
IV. REGISTRATION AND FEES
1. Registrations for the 46th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km Run are accepted through the registration form available on the website www.halfmarathon.szczecin.pl until August 18, 2025, or earlier if the limit of paid registrations is reached.
2. The participant limit (paid registrations) for the 46th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km Run is 4,000. If this limit is reached, the organizer reserves the right to close registrations earlier.
3. A valid registration for the Event is considered to be the submission of a correctly completed registration form by the participant and the receipt of the entry fee by the organizer within the amounts specified in these regulations. Registrations paid after the participant limit has been reached will not be considered.
4. The organizer has set the following entry fee amounts for registrations for the 46th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon or the 10 km Run. Depending on the order of registration and payment, the entry fees are as follows:

Fees for the starter package with a T-shirt must be paid no later than July 30, 2025. After this date, it will no longer be possible to purchase a T-shirt.
5. The participation fee can only be paid online (immediately after completing the registration form or later by logging into the registration system).
6. Participants who wish to receive an invoice for the paid participation fee should send an email with the invoice details within 7 days of payment to the address kontakt@halfmarathon.szczecin.pl.
7. Companies or institutions wishing to pay for their employees’ participation and receive an invoice should register employees in the registration system without making a payment, then send a request for an invoice and a list of registered participants (including name, surname, and year of birth) to kontakt@halfmarathon.szczecin.pl. After the invoice is paid, the Organizer will assign bib numbers to the registered participants.
8. In the case of a participant withdrawing from the event, failing to complete the race, or withdrawing consent for personal data processing, the already paid participation fee is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to the event held in the following year. Rules for transferring bib numbers to other participants are described in Chapter V.
9. Any participant who transfers their bib number to another person contrary to point 7 of this paragraph may be disqualified and suspended from participating in events organized by the Organizer for two years.
10. Participants aged 70 or older are exempt from the participation fee. To obtain this exemption and a bib number, they must contact the Organizer after registration (via email at kontakt@halfmarathon.szczecin.pl) and additionally visit the Race Office with an identity document showing their date of birth and an individual QR code.
11. The participation fee covers the organizational costs of the event.
12. As part of the participation fee, each participant will receive the opportunity to collect their starter package. Starter packages not collected during the Race Office’s working hours will not be issued or sent at a later date. Failure to collect the package does not entitle the participant to any claims against the Organizer.
13. Each participant is entitled to receive the following within the participation fee:
As part of the Basic Package (without a T-shirt):
- Bib number with a chip and four safety pins,
- A photo package from the race in high resolution available at fotysportowe.pl,
- A 2026 running calendar,
- Complimentary gifts from sponsors and partners,
- The opportunity to complete the course of the 46th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon or the 10 km run, closed to traffic,
- Water on the course (optionally isotonic drinks, bananas),
- A commemorative medal at the finish line,
- A post-race meal at the finish line,
- Time measurement, including the option to receive the result via SMS,
- Access to changing rooms and a deposit area,
- Engraving of the race distance on the medal.
As part of the Extended Package (with a T-shirt):
- Contents of the Basic Package,
- A premium T-shirt (full print, short sleeves).
V. CHANGES TO THE START LIST / TRANSFER OF BIB NUMBERS
1. Requests to transfer a bib number to another participant of the 46th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon should be sent via email to: kontakt@halfmarathon.szczecin.pl. The request must be sent by the person transferring the starter package and must include the name, surname, and year of birth of the person taking over the package. The recipient of the starter package must be registered but unpaid in the B4Sport registration panel.
2. Transfer of a bib number without a T-shirt package from one participant to another who does not yet have a bib number is only possible until August 18, 2025.
3. Transfer of a bib number with a T-shirt package and changes to the size and type of T-shirt (men’s, women’s) from one participant to another is possible until July 30, 2025, or until the registration limit is reached, and registration is closed.
4. Changes to the size and type of T-shirt (men’s, women’s) by a participant are possible until July 30, 2025, or until the registration limit is reached, and registration is closed.
5. Upgrading from a package without a T-shirt to a package with a T-shirt is possible until July 30, 2025, or until the registration limit is reached, and registration is closed.
VI. PARTICIPATION
1. Only adults, i.e., those who turn 18 years old by August 31, 2025, are eligible to participate in the 46th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon. Minors can only participate in the 10 km run, provided they are at least 16 years old on the day of the race.
2. All participants in the 46th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km run must be verified at the Race Office based on a photo ID and an individual QR code sent by the Organizer via SMS to the phone number and email address provided during registration. QR codes will be sent 2-4 days before the event. The working hours of the Race Office will be announced by August 6, 2025. Exceptionally, participants from outside the Szczecin metropolitan area may be verified on the race day, August 31, 2025, provided they receive written approval from the Organizer. A justified request for such approval must be sent to: kontakt@halfmarathon.szczecin.pl.
3. Collection of the Starter Package by another person: The person collecting the Starter Package must have the QR code and a photocopy or photo of the participant’s ID (for verification).
4. Participants are required to strictly follow the instructions of race staff, safety personnel, and traffic management services, including the Police, City Guard, referees, and other personnel securing the race route.
5. Medical staff decisions regarding a participant’s inability to continue the race are final and non-negotiable.
6. Individuals disqualified for doping violations and serving a penalty are not allowed to participate in the 46th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon or the 10 km run until their disqualification period ends.
7. The Organizer permits the participation of persons with disabilities using active wheelchairs with direct drive. Individuals wishing to compete in the race using hand-powered wheelchairs may apply for a 50% discount on the participation fee by presenting a disability certificate. Please contact the Organizer at: kontakt@halfmarathon.szczecin.pl. After registration and verification, the Organizer will generate and send an individual link for the reduced payment.
8. Due to time constraints and route closure schedules, the Organizer does not allow participation with sports wheelchairs of the “handbike” type with indirect drive or three-wheeled sports wheelchairs.
9. The cost of the participation fee, accommodation, transportation, and meals is the responsibility of each participant.
10. Only individuals with official bib numbers or those with valid authorization may be present on the race route during the 46th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km run. Unauthorized persons or individuals with counterfeit bib numbers may be removed from the race route by appropriate services and suspended from participating in events organized by the Organizer for two years.
11. For safety reasons, it is prohibited to:
– Bring items to the event area that could pose a threat to other participants,
– Participate in the race wearing costumes that cover the face and prevent participant identification,
– Participate with animals.
VII. WATER, REFRESHMENT, AND CONTROL POINTS, AS WELL AS TIME LIMIT
1. Water and refreshment points will be located approximately every 3–5 km. The final locations and number of water and refreshment points will be announced no later than 14 days before the race.
2. Refreshment points will provide water.
3. Electronic time control points will be placed along the route.
4. Skipping a control point (timing mat) or stepping outside the designated route area will result in disqualification.
5. Once participants pass the decision point and cross the timing mat for route selection, they will no longer be allowed to change their chosen distance. Attempting to do so will result in disqualification.
6. Participants in the half marathon must complete the course within a 3-hour time limit, calculated from the starter’s signal. Participants in the 10 km race are subject to the same time limit, also calculated from the starter’s signal.
7. The route of the 46th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km run will be closed to vehicular traffic during the event.
8. Participants who do not finish the race by 12:00 PM must stop running and immediately leave the race route.
9. Any person remaining on the route after the designated time does so at their own risk and may face penalties for violating road traffic regulations and the Civil Code.
VIII. CLASSIFICATIONS AND RESULTS
1. For the 46th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon, the following classifications will be conducted:
- General Classification – women and men,
- Age Classifications – women and men:
- F 20 / M 20 – (18–29 years old)
- F 30 / M 30 – (30–39 years old)
- F 40 / M 40 – (40–49 years old)
- F 50 / M 50 – (50–59 years old)
- F 60 / M 60 – (60–69 years old)
- F 70 / M 70 – (70 years old and above)
- Best Szczecinian and Best Szczecinianka – eligibility for this category is based on documented permanent or temporary residence in Szczecin. Participants wishing to compete in this additional classification must declare their intent by selecting the appropriate checkbox during online registration.
- General Classification – disabled participants using active wheelchairs with direct drive (these participants are excluded from other classifications). Participants wishing to compete in this additional classification must declare their intent by selecting the appropriate checkbox during online registration.
- Oldest Participant – male and female.
- University of Szczecin Graduate Classification – only graduates of all types of studies (bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, postgraduate) completed at the University of Szczecin are eligible to compete in this category, regardless of faculty or field of study.
2. For the 10 km Run, the following classifications will be conducted:
- General Classification – women and men,
- Age Classifications – women and men:
- F 16 / M 16 – (16–19 years old)
- F 20 / M 20 – (20–29 years old)
- F 30 / M 30 – (30–39 years old)
- F 40 / M 40 – (40–49 years old)
- F 50 / M 50 – (50–59 years old)
- F 60 / M 60 – (60–69 years old)
- F 70 / M 70 – (70 years old and above)
- General Classification – disabled participants using active wheelchairs with direct drive (these participants are excluded from other classifications). Participants wishing to compete in this additional classification must declare their intent by selecting the appropriate checkbox during online registration.
3. Team classifications are subject to a separate regulation provided below.
4. The basis for classification is electronic time measurement. Timing mats will be placed along the route to record participants’ presence at specific points (including the decision point for route selection). Missing a timing record may result in disqualification.
5. The general classification is based on official times (gross – measured from the starter’s signal). Exceptions are the first 50 participants crossing the finish line, who are ranked by gross time. All additional classifications (age, special categories) are based on net times (measured from crossing the start line).
6. Each participant will receive information about their gross and net times in the final race results. Results will also be sent via SMS to the phone number provided during registration and published in the media.
7. The Organizer reserves the right to introduce additional classifications and categories.
IX. TEAM CLASSIFICATION REGULATIONS
1. The team classification is open to teams representing sports clubs, companies, institutions, other groups, as well as groups of participants running under a shared banner.
2. A team must consist of at least 8 members, including at least one woman. There is no upper limit on the number of team members.
3. Participants who are team members must comply with these regulations. Each participant may represent only one team.
4. The team captain is responsible for:
- Registering the team for the team classification,
- Determining the team composition,
- Acting on behalf of the team,
- Communicating with the Organizer.
5. The final team result is the sum of the eight best net times achieved by its members, including at least one woman. The winning team is the one with the smallest total time. If fewer than 8 participants (including at least one woman) from a team finish the race, the team will not be classified.
6. The captain registers the team by submitting its full composition (team name, names, surnames, and years of birth of participants, and designating the captain with their phone number) to: kontakt@halfmarathon.szczecin.pl. Team registrations can be submitted until August 18, 2025. After this date, no changes to team compositions will be allowed, and new registrations will not be accepted.
7. The team classification is conducted as a general classification. There is no division into age categories. The Organizer reserves the right to introduce internal classifications within the team competition.
8. In the event of a tie between teams, the ranking will be determined by:
- The number of registered participants (higher number – higher ranking),
- The times of the best participants in the team.
9. The top three teams will receive commemorative trophies/plaques.
10. The above provisions apply to teams participating in both the half marathon distance and the 10 km distance. The Organizer will conduct two separate classifications:
- For the half marathon distance,
- For the 10 km distance.
X. AWARDS
1. Each participant who finishes the 46th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon or the 10 km Run will receive a commemorative medal at the finish line.
2. To receive any awards, participants must finish the race and, if conducted, have a negative result from the anti-doping test.
3. Winners of the I–III places in the general classifications for women and men, as well as winners of the I–III places in the age categories for the half marathon and the 10 km race, will receive commemorative trophies/plaques.
4. Winners of the I–III places in the general classification for disabled participants using active wheelchairs with direct drive will receive commemorative trophies/plaques.
5. The winners of the categories “Best Szczecinian” and “Best Szczecinianka” in the half marathon distance will receive commemorative trophies/plaques.
6. The oldest male and female participants in the half marathon distance will receive commemorative trophies/plaques.
7. The fastest graduate and fastest female graduate of the University of Szczecin in the half marathon distance will receive awards funded by the Rector of the University of Szczecin. The Organizer reserves the right to verify the winners of this category (e.g., by requiring proof of graduation from the University of Szczecin).
8. The Organizer reserves the right to introduce additional awards in selected classifications and categories.
XI. PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION
1. The data controller is the Organizer (Stowarzyszenie K2 Partners, ul. Spółdzielców 19c/1, 72-006 Mierzyn, info@k2partners.org.pl).
2. Participants’ personal data will be processed for the following purposes:
- Entering into and performing the agreement, i.e., organizing and conducting the event (legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)),
- Resolving any potential claims (legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) and (f) of the GDPR, based on the legitimate legal interest of the controller),
- Fulfilling legal obligations, e.g., issuing invoices (legal basis: Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR),
- For informational, internal administrative, analytical, and statistical purposes (legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) and (f) of the GDPR, based on the legitimate legal interest of the controller),
- Publishing the event results (legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR),
- For promotional and marketing purposes (legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) and (f) of the GDPR, based on the legitimate legal interest of the controller).
3. Participants’ personal data may be disclosed to the following categories of recipients:
- Entities required by law to access the data,
- The Organizer, i.e., Stowarzyszenie K2 Partners,
- Entities cooperating with the controller to organize the event, particularly those managing registration, timing, and other event-related services,
- Other entities cooperating with the controller, such as IT service providers, legal advisors, and marketing service providers.
4. The controller processes the following categories of data: identification data (name, surname, date of birth, place of residence, tax identification number), contact data (phone number, email address, mailing address), billing data (bank account number), club affiliation, and photographic likeness.
5. Personal data will be stored for 10 years or until the expiration of claims or document retention obligations for accounting and tax purposes. After this period, the data will be deleted or anonymized.
6. Participants have the right to request access to their data, its rectification, deletion, or restriction of processing. They may also object to processing or request data portability. In case of a violation of data protection laws, participants have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority.
7. Providing personal data is voluntary, but failure to do so will prevent participation in the 46th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km Run.
8. Consent to data processing for result publication and the use of the participant’s image is voluntary. However, withholding consent will prevent the publication of results or images. Consent may be withdrawn at any time without affecting the legality of processing carried out prior to withdrawal.
9. Personal data will not be transferred to third countries.
XII. FINAL PROVISIONS
1. All participants of the 46th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km Run are subject to these regulations.
2. The Organizer ensures medical assistance at the start, along the route, and at the finish line of the event.
3. The Organizer reserves the right to conduct interviews with participants, take photographs, and record videos for advertising, promotional purposes, use on the Internet or in radio and television broadcasts, as well as other commercial purposes.
4. The Organizer reserves the right to use, free of charge, all photographs, video materials, interviews, and audio recordings featuring participants. These materials may be used by the Organizer on CD-ROMs, DVDs, in catalogs, media outlets, websites, newspapers, exhibitions, and for promotional and advertising purposes related to the Organizer’s activities.
5. Participants acknowledge that they are competing entirely at their own risk, bearing all associated risks. They are aware that participation in the 46th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km Run involves physical exertion and carries inherent risks, including the possibility of accidents, injuries, or physical damage (including death), as well as property damage or loss.
6. Completing the registration form and paying the participation fee confirms that the participant has assessed the nature, scope, and degree of risks associated with participating in the 46th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km Run, and has voluntarily decided to take on these risks, competing entirely at their own responsibility.
7. Written protests regarding the organization of the event will be accepted by the Race Office via email at kontakt@halfmarathon.szczecin.pl within 3 days of the race’s conclusion. Protests will be resolved by the Race Director, whose decisions are final.
8. During the race, all participants must wear their bib numbers attached to the front of their shirts, at chest height, under penalty of disqualification. It is also forbidden to obscure the bib number, partially or completely, as it contains the chip used for time measurement.
9. It is prohibited to bring intoxicants, illegal substances, performance-enhancing drugs, or alcoholic beverages of any kind to the event area. Participants are prohibited from using such substances before or during the race. If a participant is found to be in violation of this rule, the Organizer reserves the right to disqualify the participant from the event.
10. Items for the deposit will only be accepted and returned in bags marked with a number matching the participant’s bib number. Bags will be issued upon presentation of the bib number. Losing the bib number releases the Organizer from responsibility for issuing the bag to another individual.
11. The Organizer is not responsible for valuables left in the deposit.
12. The Organizer is not responsible for participants’ belongings lost during the event or left in the start area (outside the deposit).
13. Being on the route of the 46th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km Run without a valid bib number is prohibited. Individuals without a valid bib number will be removed from the route by event staff.
14. It is strictly prohibited to move along the race route using bicycles, rollerblades, skateboards, or other mechanical devices, as well as with baby strollers, without valid authorization from the Organizer. The use of Nordic walking poles or running with animals is also prohibited. Only vehicles with valid passes issued by the Organizer (bicycles, motorcycles, cars) may be present on the route.
15. The Organizer allows participants to run with baby strollers. Participants using strollers must start at the back of the group to avoid obstructing other runners.
16. During the race, participants must comply with instructions issued by safety personnel, security services, and other individuals designated by the Organizer.
17. The Organizer reserves the right to cancel or interrupt the race without providing reasons.
18. The placement of advertising materials on race infrastructure (e.g., fences, gates, etc.) is exclusively reserved for the Organizer and official sponsors or partners of the event. Placing any promotional materials on the race route or within the event area (e.g., finish zone, race village) without the Organizer’s consent is strictly prohibited.
19. Matters not covered by these regulations are decided by the Organizer. If any provisions of the regulations are deemed invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part, the remaining provisions shall remain valid.
20. The interpretation of these regulations rests solely with the Organizer of the 46th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km Run.
