REGULATIONS FOR THE 47TH PKO SZCZECIN HALF MARATHON AND 10 KM RUN

I.PURPOSE

1.Promotion and popularisation of running as the simplest form of physical recreation.

2.Promotion of the City of Szczecin.

II.ORGANISER

1.The organiser of the 47th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km Run (hereinafter referred to as the “Event”) is the K2 Partners Association, K2 Marketing Sp. z o.o., and the City of Szczecin.

2.The Strategic Partner of the Event is the City of Szczecin.

III. DATE AND VENUE

1.The Event shall take place on 30 August 2026 in Szczecin. The race start is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. The Organiser allows the possibility of a wave start.

2.The course of the 47th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon will run along the streets of Szczecin, consisting of one loop for the half marathon distance and one loop for the 10 km distance. The course will be announced on the website www.halfmarathon.szczecin.pl once it has been positively verified and approved by all competent authorities issuing the final decision. The Organiser reserves the right to change the course and shall inform Participants thereof by publishing the updated course on the website www.halfmarathon.szczecin.pl. Such a change shall not give rise to any additional claims or obligations. The race courses for both distances (21.095 km and 10.000 km) are shared up to the 9.6 km mark, where the so-called Distance Selection Point is located.

3.The start and finish of the race shall be located on Karola Szymanowskiego Street, at Plac Jasne Błonia im. Jana Pawła II in Szczecin.

4.Course length: 21 km and 97.5 metres or 10 km (depending on the choice made by the Participant). Both distances shall be officially certified by the Polish Athletics Association (PZLA). The Participant independently selects the distance during the race. The final distance selection must be made no later than between kilometres 9 and 10, at which point the half marathon course and the 10 km course diverge. The Organiser undertakes to ensure proper marking of the final distance selection point.

5.The Organiser reserves the right to change the organisation of the start and finish areas.

6.The course shall be marked every 1 kilometre.

7.Time measurement shall be carried out using electronic chips embedded in the race numbers (electronic timekeeping).

IV.REGISTRATION AND FEES

1.Registration for the 47th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km Run shall be carried out via the registration form available on the website www.halfmarathon.szczecin.pl, no later than 17 August 2026, or earlier if the limit of paid entries is reached.

2.The participant limit (paid registrations) for the 47th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km Run is 6,000 persons. In the event that this limit is reached, the Organiser reserves the right to close registration at an earlier date.

3.A registration shall be deemed effective upon submission of a correctly completed registration form by the Participant (online registration) and upon receipt of the entry fee by the Organiser in the amount specified in these Regulations. Registrations paid after the participant limit has been reached shall not be taken into consideration.

4.The Organiser establishes the following entry fees for participation in the 47th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon or the 10 km Run. Depending on the order of registration and payment, the entry fees shall be as follows:

IV.REGISTRATION AND FEES (continuation)

5.Payment of the entry fee may be made exclusively online, either directly after completing the registration form or at a later date after logging into the registration profile.

6.Participants wishing to receive an invoice for the paid entry fee are required to send an email containing invoicing details within 7 days from the date of payment to: kontakt@halfmarathon.szczecin.pl.

7.Companies or institutions wishing to pay the entry fee on behalf of their employees and receive an invoice must register the employees in the athlete registration system without making payment, and subsequently send a request for an invoice together with a list of the registered employees (first name, last name and year of birth) to kontakt@halfmarathon.szczecin.pl. Upon settlement of the invoice, the Organiser shall assign race numbers to the registered participants.

8.In the event of a Participant’s resignation from participation in the Event, failure to complete the race, or withdrawal of consent for the processing of personal data, the paid entry fee shall not be refunded nor transferred to an Event held in the following year. Rules governing the transfer of a race number to another Participant are set out in Chapter V of these Regulations.

9.Pursuant to Article 38(1)(12) of the Polish Consumer Rights Act (Journal of Laws 2024, item 1796), Participants who are consumers within the meaning of Article 221 of the Polish Civil Code are not entitled to withdraw from the contract.

10.Any Participant who transfers a race number to another person in violation of Chapter V of these Regulations may be disqualified and additionally suspended from participation in Events organised by the Organiser for a period of 2 years.

11.Participants who have reached the age of 70 are exempt from the entry fee under the Basic Package. This exemption applies exclusively to the Basic Package. In the case of selecting the Extended Package with a T-shirt, the Participant is required to pay a fee of PLN 79.
In order to obtain the exemption from the entry fee and to receive a race number, the Participant must contact the Organiser after registration by email at kontakt@halfmarathon.szczecin.pl, and additionally appear at the Race Office with an identity document confirming the date of birth and containing a photograph, as well as with an individual QR code.

12.The entry fee constitutes a participation fee for the Event and is intended to cover the organisational costs of the Event.

13.As part of the entry fee, the Participant shall receive / collect a race package at the Race Office.

14.Basic race packages (without a T-shirt) that are not collected at the Race Office shall not be shipped nor made available at a later date. Failure to collect the race package does not entitle the Participant to raise any claims against the Organiser.

15.Extended race packages (with a T-shirt) that are not collected at the Race Office may be shipped to the Participant only upon prior notification sent to kontakt@halfmarathon.szczecin.pl and after payment of the shipping cost in the amount of PLN 50.

16.As part of the entry fee, each Participant of the Event is entitled to receive:

within the Basic Package (without T-shirt):
• a race number with an electronic chip and four safety pins,
• a 2027 running calendar,
• complimentary gifts from the Event’s sponsors and partners,
• the opportunity to complete the course of the 47th Szczecin Half Marathon or the 10 km Run, which will be closed to traffic,
• water on the course (with the option of isotonic drink and banana),
• a commemorative medal at the finish line upon completion of the race,
• a recovery meal at the finish line,
• time measurement, including the possibility of receiving the result via SMS,
• access to changing rooms, deposit facilities and showers,
• engraving of the race distance on the medal – to be performed after the race in the race village,
• a package of free photos available via fotysportowe.pl.

within the Extended Package (with T-shirt):
• all elements included in the Basic Package,
• a Premium T-shirt (full-print, short-sleeved).

V.CHANGES TO THE START LIST / TRANSFER OF RACE NUMBER AND ENTRY FEE

1.Requests for the transfer of any type of Race Package to another Participant of the 47th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon shall be submitted by email to: kontakt@halfmarathon.szczecin.pl.

2.A transfer of a Race Package shall be deemed effective upon correct submission of the required information to the Organiser and payment of a handling fee of PLN 30 to the bank account No. 92 1140 2004 0000 3702 7603 5823, with the reference: “entry fee transfer”. After the handling fee has been credited to the Organiser’s account, the change shall be recorded in the B4Sport registration panel and on the Event start list. An entry fee that has been transferred once may not be transferred again nor refunded.

3.The transfer request shall be submitted by the Participant relinquishing the Race Package and must include the following data: first name, last name and date of birth of the person transferring the package, as well as the first name, last name, date of birth and email address of the person taking over the Race Package. The person taking over the Race Package must be registered and unpaid in the B4Sport registration system. Additionally, the person taking over the Race Package must send a declaration to the above email address confirming their willingness to take over the Race Package from the Participant who is resigning, including the first name and last name of that Participant.
In the event of early closure of registration and the inability to register via the B4Sport system, the person taking over the Race Package shall contact the Organiser by email.

3.Transfer of a Race Package to another Participant shall be possible until 17 August 2026.

4.Transfer of a Race Package without a T-shirt by a Participant to another Participant who does not yet have a race number shall be possible exclusively until 17 August 2026.

5.Change of the size and type (women’s / men’s) of the T-shirt by a Participant shall be possible until 30 July 2026 or until the earlier exhaustion of the limit of paid registrations and closure of registration.

6.The Organiser does not act as an intermediary in settlements between Participants.

VI.PARTICIPATION

1.Participation in the 47th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon is open exclusively to adults, i.e. persons who have reached the age of 18 no later than 30 August 2026. Minors may participate only in the 10 km Run, provided that they have reached the age of 16 on the race day.

2.All Participants taking part in the 47th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km Run must be verified at the Race Office upon presentation of an individual QR code, which shall be sent by the Organiser via SMS to the telephone number and to the e-mail address provided in the registration form. QR codes shall be sent 2–4 days prior to the race. The days and hours of operation of the Race Office shall be announced by 6 August 2025.
Exceptionally, persons residing outside the Szczecin metropolitan area may be verified on the race day, i.e. on 30 August 2026, provided that they obtain written consent from the Organiser. A justified request for such consent shall be sent to: kontakt@halfmarathon.szczecin.pl.

3.Collection of the Race Package by another person. The person collecting the Race Package must possess the QR code of the Participant on whose behalf the package is collected.

4.Participants of the Event are obliged to strictly comply with all instructions issued by race staff, persons responsible for safety, and services responsible for traffic control, including the Police, Municipal Police, judges and other services securing the race course.

5.During the race, all competitors must wear the official race number of the 47th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon.

6.The race number must be affixed to the front of the T-shirt using safety pins or worn at the front on a race number belt. It is prohibited to cover the race number in part or in full or to place it on the back. Participants starting without a clearly visible race number on the front are subject to disqualification.

7.Decisions of the medical services regarding a Participant’s inability to continue the race are final and non-appealable.

8.Persons disqualified for doping offences and serving a suspension are not entitled to participate in the 47th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon or the 10 km Run until the disqualification expires.

9.The Organiser allows the participation of persons with disabilities using wheelchairs, i.e. active wheelchairs with direct manual propulsion. Persons wishing to participate in the race using a manually propelled wheelchair may apply for a 50% reduction of the entry fee upon presentation of a document confirming disability. For this purpose, Participants are requested to contact the Organiser at: kontakt@halfmarathon.szczecin.pl. Immediately after registration and verification, the Organiser shall generate and send an individual payment link with the reduced fee.

10.For safety reasons, the Organiser does not allow participation in the race by persons using types of wheelchairs other than those specified above, roller skates, inline skates, skateboards, bicycles or other devices. Due to the nature of the Half Marathon, participation with trekking poles, Nordic walking poles or animals is prohibited.

11.The costs of the entry fee, accommodation, travel and personal meals shall be borne by each Participant individually.

11.Apart from persons performing organisational duties on the course of the 47th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km Run, no persons without a race number, persons with a false (counterfeit) race number, or persons with a race number assigned to another Participant are allowed to be present on the race course. Persons violating this prohibition may be removed from the race course by the appropriate services and may additionally be suspended from participation in Events organised by the Organiser for a period of 2 years.

12.For safety reasons, it is prohibited to: bring items that may pose a threat to other Participants onto the Event area, participate in the race wearing clothing that covers the face and prevents identification of the Participant, and start the race with animals.

VII. HYDRATION AND REFRESHMENT STATIONS, CONTROL POINTS AND TIME LIMITS

1.Hydration and refreshment stations shall be located approximately every 3–5 km. The final locations and number of hydration and refreshment stations shall be announced by the Organiser no later than 14 days prior to the race.

2.Electronic time measurement control points shall be located along the race course.

3.Skipping a control point (timing mat) or leaving the designated course shall result in disqualification.

4.After passing the distance selection decision point and crossing the timing mat, the Participant shall no longer be permitted to change the selected distance, as such a change shall result in disqualification.

5.Participants competing in the half marathon distance are subject to a time limit of 3 hours, calculated from the starter’s gun. Participants in the 10 km Run are subject to a time limit of 1.5 hours, also calculated from the starter’s gun.

6.The course of the 47th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km Run shall be closed to vehicular traffic for the duration of the Event.

7.Participants who fail to complete the 21.1 km distance by 12:00 p.m., as well as Participants who fail to complete the 10 km distance by 10:30 a.m., are obliged to discontinue the race and immediately leave the race course.

8.Any person remaining on the race course after the expiry of the above-mentioned time limits does so at their own risk and may be subject to penalties for violating road traffic regulations and the provisions of the Civil Code.

VIII. CLASSIFICATIONS AND RESULTS

1.The following classifications shall be conducted as part of the 47th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon:
General Classification – women and men,
Age Group Classifications – women and men:
• W 20 / M 20 – (18–29 years)
• W 30 / M 30 – (30–39 years)
• W 40 / M 40 – (40–49 years)
• W 50 / M 50 – (50–59 years)
• W 60 / M 60 – (60–69 years)
• W 70 / M 70 – (70–74 years)
• W 75 / M 75 – (75 years and older)
Best Male Participant from Szczecin and Best Female Participant from Szczecin – eligibility for this category shall be determined based on documented permanent or temporary residence registration within the territory of the City of Szczecin. A Participant wishing to take part in this additional classification is required to declare such intention to the Organiser by selecting the appropriate option during online registration.
General Classification of women and men with disabilities using active wheelchairs with direct manual propulsion (these athletes are excluded from the remaining classifications). A Participant wishing to take part in this additional classification is required to declare such intention to the Organiser by selecting the appropriate option during online registration.
Oldest Male Participant / Oldest Female Participant.
University of Szczecin Graduate Classification – participation in this classification is open exclusively to female and male graduates of all types of studies completed at the University of Szczecin, including bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral and postgraduate studies, regardless of the faculty or field of study completed.

2.The following classifications shall be conducted as part of the 10 km Run:
General Classification – women and men,
Age Group Classifications – women and men:
• W 16 / M 16 – (16–17 years)
• W 20 / M 20 – (18–29 years)
• W 30 / M 30 – (30–39 years)
• W 40 / M 40 – (40–49 years)
• W 50 / M 50 – (50–59 years)
• W 60 / M 60 – (60–69 years)
• W 70 / M 70 – (70–74 years)
• W 75 / M 75 – (75 years and older)
General Classification of women and men with disabilities using active wheelchairs with direct manual propulsion (these athletes are excluded from the remaining classifications). A Participant wishing to take part in this additional classification is required to declare such intention to the Organiser by selecting the appropriate option during online registration.

3.Team classification shall be governed by a separate set of regulations provided below.

4.The basis for classification shall be electronic time measurement. Timing mats shall be placed along the race course to record the appearance of a Participant at a given point (including the distance selection decision point). Failure to record a Participant’s appearance at a given control point may result in disqualification.

5.The general classification shall be based on net times (measured from the moment of crossing the start line). An exception applies to the first 50 Participants crossing the finish line, who shall be classified based on official (gross) times measured from the starter’s gun. All additional classifications (age group, category-based) shall be conducted based on net times.

6.In the final race results, each Participant shall receive information on their gross and net time. Additionally, the results shall be sent to each Participant via SMS to the telephone number provided in the registration form and made available to the media.

7.The Organiser reserves the right to introduce additional classifications and categories.

IX.TEAM CLASSIFICATION REGULATIONS

1.Team classification is open to teams representing sports clubs, companies, institutions, other organisations, as well as groups of Participants competing under a common team name.

2.A team shall consist of a minimum of 8 persons, including at least one woman. There is no upper limit to the number of team members.

3.Participants who are members of individual teams are subject to these Regulations. A Participant may represent only one team.

4.A team captain shall be responsible for the team. The captain is the sole person who:
• registers the team for participation in the team classification,
• decides on the composition of the team,
• represents the team,
• contacts the Organiser of the Event.

5.The final team result shall be determined as the sum of the eight best net times achieved by its members, including at least one woman. The team with the lowest total of the eight times shall be declared the winner. If fewer than 8 participants (including at least one woman) representing a team complete the race, the team shall not be classified.

6.The team captain shall register the team by submitting the full team roster (team name, first names, last names and years of birth of the Participants, and indication of the team captain together with a contact telephone number) to: kontakt@halfmarathon.szczecin.pl. Team registrations may be submitted until 17 August 2026. After this date, no changes to team compositions shall be permitted and no new team registrations shall be accepted.

7.The team classification shall be conducted as a general classification. No age categories shall be applied. The Organiser reserves the right to organise internal classifications within the team classification.

8.In the event that more than one team achieves the same result, the final ranking shall be determined primarily by the number of registered team members (a higher number resulting in a higher ranking), and subsequently by the best individual times achieved by the team members.

9.The three best teams shall receive commemorative trophies/statues.

10.The above provisions shall apply accordingly to teams competing in the half marathon distance and the 10 km distance. The Organiser provides for two team classifications:
• for the half marathon distance,
• for the 10 km distance.

X.PRIZES

1.Every Participant who completes the 47th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon or the 10 km Run shall receive a commemorative medal at the finish line.

2.The condition for receiving prizes is completion of the race and – where applicable – a negative result of an anti-doping control.

3.Winners of 1st–3rd places in the general classifications for women and men, as well as winners of 1st–3rd places in the age group classifications for the half marathon and the 10 km distance, shall receive commemorative trophies/statues.

4.Winners of 1st–3rd places in the general classifications of women and men with disabilities using active wheelchairs with direct manual propulsion shall receive commemorative trophies/statues.

5.Winners of 1st place in the Best Male Participant from Szczecin and Best Female Participant from Szczecin classifications for the half marathon distance shall receive commemorative trophies/statues.

6.The Oldest Male Participant and the Oldest Female Participant in the half marathon distance shall receive commemorative trophies/statues.

7.The Fastest Male Graduate and the Fastest Female Graduate of the University of Szczecin in the half marathon distance shall receive prizes funded by the Rector of the University of Szczecin. The Organiser reserves the right to verify the winner/winners in the above classification (e.g. by requiring presentation of a document confirming graduation from the University of Szczecin).

8.The Organiser reserves the right to introduce additional prizes in classifications and categories selected by the Organiser.

XI.PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION

1.The controller of personal data is the Organiser (K2 Partners Association, ul. Spółdzielców 19c/1, 72-006 Mierzyn, info@k2partners.org.pl).

2.Personal data of the Event Participants shall be processed for the purpose of:
• conclusion and performance of the contract, i.e. organisation and conduct of the Event (legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation – hereinafter: GDPR);
• pursuing potential claims (legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR within the legitimate interest of the Controller);
• fulfilment of legal obligations, e.g. issuing receipts or invoices (legal basis: Article 6(1)(c) GDPR);
• informational purposes, internal administrative, analytical and statistical purposes (legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) and (f) GDPR within the legitimate interest of the Controller);
• publication of Event results (legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR);
• promotional and marketing purposes (legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) and (f) GDPR within the legitimate interest of the Controller).

3.Personal data of Event Participants may be disclosed to the following categories of recipients:
• entities to which data must be disclosed pursuant to applicable law;
• the Organiser, i.e. K2 Partners Association, ul. Spółdzielców 19c/1, 72-006 Mierzyn;
• entities cooperating with the Controller for the purpose of organising the Event, in particular entities through which registrations for participation in the Event are made, and entities providing time-keeping services;
• other entities cooperating with the Controller in order to exercise its rights (insurers, entities providing IT, legal and marketing services).

4.The Controller processes the following categories of personal data: identification data (first name and last name, date of birth, place of residence, tax identification number), contact data (telephone number, e-mail address, residential address), settlement data (bank account number), club name, and image.

5Personal data shall be stored by the Controller for a period of 10 years or until the expiry of claims and the lapse of document retention periods required for accounting and tax purposes. After the expiry of the last of these periods, Participant data shall be deleted or anonymised by the Organiser.

6.The Participant has the right to request from the Controller access to personal data relating to him/her, rectification, erasure or restriction of processing, as well as the right to object to processing and the right to data portability. In the event of violations related to personal data protection by the Controller, the Participant has the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority.

7.Provision of personal data is voluntary; however, failure to provide such data makes participation in the 47th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km Run impossible.

8.Consent to the processing of data for the purpose of publishing Event results and to the processing of personal data in the form of image is voluntary; failure to grant such consent prevents publication of the obtained result or image. Consent may be withdrawn at any time; however, withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out on the basis of consent prior to its withdrawal.

9.Personal data shall not be transferred to third countries.

XII. FINAL PROVISIONS

1.These Regulations shall be binding on all Participants of the 47th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km Run.

2.The Organiser shall provide medical care at the start, along the course and at the finish of the Event.

3.The Organiser reserves the right to conduct interviews with Participants, take photographs and record video footage for advertising and promotional purposes, for use on the Internet or in radio and television broadcasts, as well as for other commercial purposes.

4.The Organiser reserves the right to use, free of charge and worldwide, all photographs, video materials, interviews and audio recordings depicting Participants of the race. Such materials may be used by the Organiser by placing them on media such as CD-ROMs, DVDs, in catalogues and media outlets, on websites, in newspapers and exhibitions, as well as for promotional and advertising purposes related to the Organiser’s activities.

5.The Participant confirms that they participate entirely at their own risk and bear the risks associated therewith, acknowledging that participation in the 47th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km Run involves physical exertion and entails natural risks and hazards of accidents, the possibility of bodily injury or physical harm (including death), as well as damage and losses of a material nature.

6.Completion of the registration form and payment of the entry fee constitutes confirmation that the Participant has assessed the nature, scope and degree of risk associated with participation in the 47th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km Run and has voluntarily decided to assume such risk, participating solely at their own responsibility.

7.Written protests concerning the organisation of the Event shall be accepted by the Race Office via e-mail at kontakt@halfmarathon.szczecin.pl within 3 days from the date of completion of the race. Protests shall be resolved by the Race Director, whose decisions shall be final and non-appealable.

8.During the race, all Participants must wear their race numbers affixed to the front of their shirts at chest level, under penalty of disqualification. It is also prohibited, under penalty of disqualification, to partially or fully cover the race number (the race number contains the timing chip).

9.It is prohibited to bring intoxicating substances, illegal substances, performance-enhancing substances or alcoholic beverages of any kind to the Event venue. Participants are prohibited from using such substances both before and during the race under penalty of exclusion. If it is established that a Participant violates this prohibition, the Organiser reserves the right to deny the Participant entry to the race or to exclude them during the race.

10.Deposit items shall be accepted and returned only in bags marked with a number corresponding to the Participant’s race number. Bags shall be released upon presentation of the race number. Loss of the race number by the Participant releases the Organiser from liability for the bag being collected by another person.

11.The Organiser shall not be responsible for valuable items left in the deposit.

12.The Organiser shall not be responsible for Participants’ belongings lost during the Event or left in the start area (outside the deposit).

13.Presence on the race course of the 47th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km Run without a valid race number is prohibited. Persons without a valid race number shall be removed from the course by race staff.

14.In particular, it is prohibited to move along the race course using bicycles, roller skates, skateboards, other mechanical devices or with baby strollers without valid permission issued by the Organiser. The use of Nordic walking poles and participation with animals is also prohibited. Only Organiser vehicles (bicycles, motorcycles, cars) holding a valid pass issued by the Organiser are permitted on the course.

15.The Organiser allows participation with a baby stroller. Participants starting with strollers shall line up at the end of the starting group, in such a way as not to obstruct other Participants.

16.During the race, Participants shall comply with instructions issued by persons responsible for safety, security services and other persons designated by the Organiser.

17.The Organiser reserves the right to cancel or interrupt the race without stating reasons.

18.Placement of advertising materials on race infrastructure elements (e.g. fences, gates, etc.) is the exclusive right of the Organiser and is in particular reserved for official sponsors and partners of the Event. Placement of any advertising media on the race course or in areas used for the organisation of the race (e.g. finish zone, race village) without the Organiser’s consent is prohibited.

19.Matters not regulated by these Regulations shall be decided by the Organiser. If any provision of these Regulations is deemed partially or entirely invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions (in whole or in part) shall remain in force.

20.Interpretation of these Regulations shall rest with the Organiser of the 47th PKO Szczecin Half Marathon and the 10 km Run.
